Founded in 2002, Tartan’s full-service retail brokerage works with leading national brands, fast casual restaurants, and early-stage growth concepts in their first wave of national expansion. Our boots-on-the-ground approach and proprietary software inform our approach. Plus, our experience as a principal founder and investor in the restaurant concept Meatheads has given us an insider’s perspective of tenant needs. As overseer of the chain’s real estate arm, we have opened 17 locations within eight years.
Tartan currently serves as the master broker for all CA Student Living mixed-use developments across the country. Other notable projects include the leasing of Southgate Market in Chicago’s South Loop, and Chatham Market on the city’s South Side, site of the second Wal-Mart in the city.
Stable Communities & Growing Economies
Tartan’s developments are distinguished by their quality of design and construction, and their urban sensibility. We have invested significantly in central Illinois’ Bloomington/Normal market, recently completing the first phase of One Uptown on the Circle with a new Hyatt Place hotel, as well as The Flats, a multi-phased student housing and retail development serving students from Illinois State University. Other recent projects include Evolve, a 350-bed mixed-use development in Carbondale. Evolve is the first project of the City of Carbondale’s downtown redevelopment initiative.
